What Does ISO Certification Entail? (remove from this page).
“ISO Certification” refers to the acknowledgment that your Business Management System meets the requirements of one or more International Standards, also referred to as ISO Standards.
Businesses certified to ISO Management System Standards operate with Business Management Systems that are globally recognized and accepted.
Who Certifies Your Business?
While many refer to “ISO Certification,” ISO itself does not conduct certifications. Accreditation Bodies, typically government-affiliated or government-recognized entities, handle this responsibility in most developed and many developing countries. In Australia and New Zealand, for instance, the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) oversees the accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs). These CABs are the organizations responsible for auditing and certifying management systems, products, or individuals within their respective regions and globally.
What is involved in maintaining Certification to an ISO Management System Standard?
After achieving certification, a 3-year cycle begins. Each year, your certifier will return to conduct an audit to ensure that your system remains current and that all required ongoing activities are completed and properly documented.
